Getting Around

Neither Sanibel nor Captiva has public transportation. No parking is permitted on any street or road on Sanibel. Free beach parking is available on the Sanibel Causeway. Other municipal lots either are reserved for local residents or have a 75¢ hourly fee. Accordingly, many residents and visitors get around by bicycle.

From Southwest Florida International Airport
All rental car companies require a short shuttle ride from the terminal front. After you have checked in at the appropriate second level rental car counter, proceed downstairs to the baggage claim area. Please meet your bus directly across the street from the baggage claim areas on the Commercial Curb. To return rental cars, drive directly to the rental car company's airport office. Shuttle buses will be provided back to the terminal.
